WHAT IS A SOUND BATH?

What is a sound bath?

A sound bath is where you are immersed in soothing waves of sound and vibration with the aim to promote wellbeing and healing.  Rather than 'listening' in the usual way, your body receives the resonance of the instruments. We use crystal quartz bowls and himalayan bowls to create a soundscape during the sessions. You simply lie down or sit comfortably, close your eyes, and let the sounds wash over you - much like  being bathed in gentle sunlight or water.

You make yourself as cosy as possible by bringing a mat (such as a yoga or exercise mat), a blanket, pillow, cushion, bolster and a cover for your eyes if it is your preference. Your temperature can drop slightly whilst lying still so it is important you are as warm and cosy as possible. Once you are setted you will be guided to relax with a meditation and then you will experience a curated sound bath which will also include moments of silence. Sound baths are designed to calm the nervous system, encourage emotional release, promote better sleep and create a safe space. Every sound bath is unique, yet the aim is always the same to help you feel rested. restored and renewed.

While many people find sound healing to be deeply relaxing and transformative, it’s important to acknowledge that it doesn’t resonate with everyone in the same way. Each person’s experience is unique, and factors like openness, expectations, and current emotional or physical state can all influence how the session is  received. Sound healing is not a replacement for medical or psychological treatment, and it may not provide immediate or noticeable results for everyone.
